Barren Womb + Murder Maids

Since their inception in late 2011, Nordic heavy noise rockers Barren Womb have been raising both eyebrows and hell with their minimalistic approach, earsplitting volume and defiant experimentation. The duo make efficient use of crude dynamics and the power of the riff to hammer their point across.

Through four critically acclaimed albums, a slew of EP’s and singles, and hundreds of shows across Europe and the US, Barren Womb have earned a reputation of being one of Norway’s hardest working bands. They have shared stages with among others Entombed A.D., Voivod, Conan, Nomeansno and Årabrot, and have played festivals like SXSW, by:Larm, Tallinn Music Week, Øya and Pstereo.

“Like a perfect combination of the Refused and Rocket From the Crypt”
- Decibel Magazine

"Barren Womb’s fourth - and best - album is a grubby ashtray of Clutch-like quips, Refused’s hardcore splats, Primus-esque wobbliness and, above all, big, stinky riffs"
- Metal Hammer UK - 8/10

‘"Lizard Lounge’ is an amazing take on the noise rock genre that is worthy of a spot in even the pickiest of fan's collections"
- The Sludgelord

Murder Maids was established shortly before the outbreak of a global pandemic, and has in a short time made a name for themselves after they released the critically acclaimed debut album "Knives Out" in 2021 with Per Borten of Spidergawd as producer, which ultimately led to their nomination for a Norwegian Grammy in the category "breakthrough of the year".

Murder Maids' sources of inspiration range from old school punk from the 70's and 80's to modern hardcore and 90´s skate punk, with various elements of rock and metal incorporated into the mix, creating a fresh and energetic addition to the global punk scene.

"For those who like melodic punk and hardcore of Scandinavian style and/or old school East Coast HC, this is the right place. The energy level is right"
- Brutstatt

"A really successful album that gets better with every listen"
- OX Fanzine
